"Reckless and fortunate to avoid crossing paths with me," says Felipe Melo as he criticizes Mbappe.
A strong Brazilian attack on Mbappe
Veteran Brazilian star Felipe Melo, a Brazilian player for Fluminense, attacked French star Kylian Mbappe, a player for Paris Saint-Germain, as he described him as “stupid.”
Melo said during statements reported by the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport: “Mbappe is stupid. He talked about South America and then Argentina overtook him. He scored 3 goals against them in the World Cup final, Argentina won the title, and Lionel Messi became the best player in the world.”
Felipe added: "Mbappe still has a lot to learn, and he cannot talk about football in South America. He will be a great player and will win the Ballon d'Or 3 or 4 times, but he has to keep his mouth shut."
He continued: "They come from Europe to look for players here in South America, not in France. Fortunately, I did not have the opportunity to play against him, and I do not know if this is my luck or his luck!"
This came after Mbappe's statement in which he reduced the competition within South America, compared to the European championships, and pointed out that the winners of the World Cup before Argentina 2022 were European teams, which angered South American fans.
