"Ten Attack attributes Manchester's downfall in Copenhagen to refereeing, calling it 'the finest 10 minutes of the season.'"
Manchester United faces another defeat on the continental stage...
Following his club's loss against Copenhagen in the Champions League, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag criticized the refereeing and expressed apprehension about the team's challenges on the continent this season.
The match in Denmark ended 4-3, with United holding leads of 2-0 and 3-2 but ultimately succumbing after Marcus Rashford received a red card and a handball penalty was given against Harry Maguire, complicating the game.
Ten Hag, in remarks reported by "MEN," expressed regret, stating, "We're disappointed as we played well. The best 10 minutes of our season were at the start of the match, but we conceded two goals that shouldn't have counted before the first half ended. The first was offside, and the second was a penalty. Four penalties were given against us in the tournament, and this needs to be addressed."
He continued, "Similar incidents occurred with Eriksen and McTominay (against Bayern and Copenhagen in the first leg). There must be objectivity, and this trend cannot persist." Ten Hag also contested Rashford's dismissal, calling it "very harsh," adding, "Playing the ball and the referee took a long time. When the image freezes, it's worse. What's happening has nothing to do with football."
United has managed only three points from four matches, securing one victory and suffering three defeats.
