Manchester United's victory over Barcelona in the Europa League knockouts was a hard-fought battle. Although United eventually emerged as winners with an impressive second-half performance, they had to overcome an early setback when Bruno Fernandes conceded a penalty that Robert Lewandowski converted for Barcelona's opener. Despite this, United persevered and enjoyed spells of possession while Barcelona struggled to assert their dominance without the likes of Gavi and Pedri.
United came back to level terms within two minutes of the second half, with Fred scoring after a beautiful passing move. In the 73rd minute, Antony sealed United's victory with a fantastic curling shot that set the Old Trafford crowd alight. Barcelona made a late push, but Raphael Varane saved United from any late heartbreak by clearing Lewandowski's effort off the line in stoppage time.
The victory keeps United's Europa League dreams alive, adding to their already impressive campaign in the Carabao Cup. As for Barcelona, they can now focus on pushing for their first La Liga title in three years without the distraction of another competition.
